This new house in construction did not provide any connexion between the living room and the backyard due to the difference of level between these two spaces. The clients also wanted to maximise the space offering an area for the entertainment of the parents and the children but also a space where they could have an in-built BBQ with a deck. We were limited about how we could use the space due to a 2m wide easement along the rear boundary fence.

We designed a stair providing and including a seat to optimise the space. This space will propose a deck with an in-built concrete BBQ. For privacy and to bring some greenery we have a low garden bed all around the backyard and we created a desinated area for a portative firepit. We will have corten edge retaining wall to hold the dirt and make the area as level as possible.
